Rallying Cry

Right now it seems like Portland can’t get its act together. And we’re standing here thinking, “What the...?” We at Wieden+Kennedy have been a part of this city since 1982. And the thing we’ve learned more than anything else about Portland, about us Portlanders, is that we’re carried by a deeply optimistic and restless energy. Now, there are all sorts of reasons for and debates about the issues Portland is experiencing, and how to fix them. We are certainly not experts in that. But what we can do is remind ourselves how awesome Portland is, and that each of us play a role in making Portland what it is— what it can be. PORTLAND IS WHAT WE MAKE IT. So we’re asking ourselves, and all of us actually, what’s everyone’s statement of belief in making Portland the Portland we want it to be? What’s your T-shirt or bumper sticker? What’s your speech to kick off every Thorns game? What’s your senior-year group petition to the mayor? Let’s make this city, our city, what we want it to be. This is a start. Wieden+Kennedy
